About Gender Based Violence Helpline Gambia

The Gender-Based Violence Helpline (1313) is a free, confidential support service available across The Gambia. We offer compassionate assistance in English, Wollof, Mandinka, and Fula, and are committed to supporting all survivors of sexual and gender-based violence – women, men, and children.

Our team of trained social workers and psychotherapists is here to listen and help. While the line is open week days from 10 am to 10 pm, we receive calls at all hours, but response may vary slightly if operators are resting.

We provide help with: Sexual and gender-based violence; domestic and family violence (in collaboration with Social Welfare services); emotional support and trauma care; referrals for PTSD and severe mental health needs.
