Helem - LGBTQIA+ Helpline

The Helem Helpline is a safe and confidential space dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals in Lebanon. We provide active listening, primary psychosocial support, and practical information for people facing challenges related to their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or broader social and legal circumstances through our referral system. At the same time, our work is rooted in advocating for human rights and promoting social justice for LGBTQIA+ people. Our helpline welcomes calls from all nationalities and backgrounds, with a full commitment to confidentiality and privacy. We understand that LGBTQIA+ individuals often face threats such as family violence, workplace discrimination, barriers to accessing healthcare, or legal risks linked to residency and asylum. For this reason, our team listens, offers immediate support, and acts as a referral system; connecting callers to appropriate, trusted, and queer-friendly service providers who can offer the support they need (such as legal aid, mental health services, or protection). We do not impose solutions; rather, we accompany individuals and empower them to make informed decisions that fit their situation. All shared information remains strictly protected and confidential. The Helem Helpline serves as a first step toward safety, solidarity, and access to the resources that LGBTQIA+ people deserve.

خط الدعم الخاص بجمعية حلم هو مساحة آمنة وسرّية مخصّصة لدعم مجتمع الميم-عين (LGBTQIA+) في لبنان وخارجه. نحن نقدّم الإصغاء الفعّال، الدعم النفسي الأوّلي، والمعلومات العملية للأشخاص الذين يواجهون تحديات مرتبطة بالهوية الجندرية أو الميول الجنسية أو أوضاعهم الاجتماعية والقانونيةمن خلال نظام الإحالات الخاص بنا . إلى جانب ذلك، يتمثّل عملنا الأساسي أيضاً في المناصرة والدفاع عن حقوق الإنسان وتعزيز العدالة الاجتماعية لأفراد مجتمع الميم-عين. يستقبل الخط المكالمات من جميع الجنسيات والخلفيات، دون أي استثناء، مع احترام كامل لمبدأ السرية والخصوصية. ندرك أن أفراد مجتمع الميم-عين قد يواجهون تهديدات تتعلق بالعنف الأسري، التمييز في أماكن العمل، صعوبات في الوصول إلى خدمات الرعاية الصحية، أو مخاطر قانونية مرتبطة بوضع الإقامة أو اللجوء. من هنا، يعمل فريقنا على الإصغاء، تقديم الدعم الأوّلي، والإحالة إلى مزوّدي الخدمات المناسبين الموثوقين والحلفاء للمجتمع، لضمان أن يحصل المتصلون على الدعم الذي يحتاجونه فعلاً (مثل الدعم القانوني، الدعم النفسي، أو المأوى الطارئ). نحن لا نقدّم حلولاً جاهزة، بل نرافق الأشخاص لتمكينهم من اتخاذ القرارات التي تناسبهم، مع ضمان أن كل معلومة تتم مشاركتها تبقى محمية وسرّية. خط الدعم في حلم هو خطوة أولى نحو الأمان، التضامن، والوصول إلى الموارد التي يحتاجها مجتمع الميم-عين.
