About Ilitha Labantu helpline

Ilitha Labantu Helpline provides 24/7 free and confidential support by phone and WhatsApp for women and children in the Western Cape, South Africa, especially those affected by domestic violence, sexual abuse, and other forms of abuse in townships and rural areas.

When you reach out, you will speak with one of our social workers or legal advisors, who will listen with empathy, provide counselling or legal guidance, and work with you to find solutions.

You can contact us through our 24-Hour Support Lines at 072 076 6118 (Khayelitsha) and 072 063 4407 (Gugulethu), both of which are WhatsApp-compatible, or through our Paralegal Support Line at 064 770 1520, also available on WhatsApp. We are also reachable via admin@ilithalabantu.org .

Support is available in English and IsiXhosa. Services include counselling, trauma debriefing, legal accompaniment, shelter at the Dorothy Zihlangu Transitional House, and community outreach programs.

Anyone can contact us, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or beliefs.
