About National Helpline for LGBT+ Victims and Survivors of Abuse and Violence

National Helpline for LGBT+ Victims and Survivors of Abuse and Violence (Galop) provides free and confidential support by phone, email, and online chat. We are here for LGBTQ+ adults in the United Kingdom who are experiencing abuse or violence, including domestic abuse, hate crime, sexual abuse, rape, sexual violence.

When you contact us, you will talk with one of our trained counselors, many of whom are LGBTQ+ themselves, who will listen with empathy and understanding. They will help you explore your options, find ways to stay safe, and provide guidance and emotional support, while respecting your confidentiality. Our advisors have experience supporting people who have gone through similar challenges and will work with you without judgment, empowering you to make decisions that are right for you.

Anyone can contact us, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or religious beliefs. Translation services are available for those who prefer to speak in another language.
