For more than forty years, Samaritans has been at the forefront of suicide prevention in New York City. We are a member of the world’s largest suicide prevention network, with over 400 centers across 40 countries.

Samaritans NYC provides 24/7 free and confidential support and information by phone. We help everyone in New York City. Samaritans’ hotline offers a space where you can be yourself without pretense. It’s a place where you can focus on what’s going on with you and express your concerns without the intrusion of unwanted advice or judgments.

Our free support is provided for all mental health issues, whether you're in crisis or just need someone to talk to. You can contact us about anything that you're going through. When you contact us, you will talk with one our friendly and supportive volunteers who will collaborate with you to find solutions while giving you an empathetic and compassionate ear. They have expertise and understanding in how to help people going through difficulties similar to what you are. Anyone can call and receive free support. We exist to help everyone regardless of age, gender, beliefs or ethnicity.
