The SURPIN Helpline is a 24 hour lifeline for Nigerians struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, or thoughts of self harm. We provide a compassionate, confidential space where anyone in crisis can be heard, supported, and guided toward the help they need.
Understanding that communication is key, our counsellors speak Nigeria’s major languages, including a dedicated hotline for Hausa speakers. For those who need in person (face to face) support, our nationwide referral network connects callers to trusted mental health professionals and facilities, ensuring timely and effective care.
With a presence across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, SURPIN is one of Nigeria’s most organised and comprehensive suicide prevention networks. Our team of around 130 members, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, guidance counsellors, physicians and mental health specialists—are united by a commitment to protect lives and promote mental wellbeing. At SURPIN, we believe no one should face their struggles alone. Our helpline offers a safe, understanding space for anyone seeking support, guidance, or simply someone to listen.
