About Counselling Online (Alcohol & Drug Counselling)

Counselling Online is a free, confidential service that provides 24/7 support to people affected by alcohol or drug use across Australia. Clients can speak to qualified counsellors using online chat or email, or can connect with peers in the community forum. Counsellors can work with clients to identify the issue and develop next steps, such as providing referral options. Our non-judgmental counsellors can support you at any stage of help-seeking, whether you’re:

  • looking for harm minimisation advice
  • seeking support for the first time
  • waiting to get into treatment
  • getting treatment but needing some extra support, particularly after hours
  • in recovery and wanting to connect with others
  • managing lapses or relapses
  • wanting to share your experience and support others
  • affected by, or supporting someone who uses alcohol or drugs

Counselling Online is a Turning Point service funded by the Australian Commonwealth Department of Health. Since 2006, Counselling Online has been assisting Australian residents concerned about alcohol and other drugs.
